$1 Dollar Coin

I want to have $1 coins, where can I find them?


In a plastic based society, having pocket full of change isn't the way to go.  I don't recall the coins are something that I carry for a long long time.  The coins are to be found in either car cup holders, or the plastic jug I placed nearby entrance door.


The "smart card", the micro-chip embedded cash card didn't take off in America, but it worked well in Europe when it was first introduced in 1990's/early 2000.  I think having a superior communication infrastructure renders the off-line transaction (coins, cash smart card) less important.


 I like to use coins to save our tax payer money, but couple things has to happen first
1. stronger pockets for all. better design of coins holder for purses
2. pricing structure need to match the use of coins  when the basis for everything is near $1.00 mark - water, soda, chip, or lottery tickets.
3. machines accepts dollar coins
4. fewer credit card accepted vending machines. red box accept coins?/not credit cards?

Rained! Soil is moist again

Shocking news to me.  This is the top four cable channels for 2010.  FOX NEWS is ranked number 5 on the list- I didn't know people can spent so much time watching news as "info-tainment".  I park my TV on FOX NEWS for the back ground noise.

Here is another shocker - BET was a big deal in the 80's when there was very little media outlet catering to Blacks (or African American). Then, 20-25 years later, the popularity of BET is down.  Could it be (a) Black culture is highly integrated into our culture, and there is no real demand for unique Black programming (b) main stream media have many well developed programmings to woo Black audiences away from BET.  I think its both!

She wrote the book Eat Pray and Love and her book story is turning into a movie.

What an interesting book title.. Isn't that so true, that's what we need to survive too - in that same sequence?

During the New Year break, I caught a day-time game show - Family Feud. One the questions was quite interesting; FF surveyed 100 women, "What do they hope their blind date have?" I grouped the top 8 responses into 3 basic traits

#3 - 14% is about Physical thing (9 - good looks, 4 good body)

#2 - 25% is about Interaction (17 - personality, 4 manner class, 2 flower)

#1 - 62% is about Wealth (45 - money, 12 - nice car, 2 job)

I recall one of sociologist said this

Women need to project their youth & fertility, because men want to have offspring

Men need to project their wealth, because women want to have stability to raise offspring

It's a bit surprising that this not so scientific survey reflects the same academia finding?

If the guy is physical attractive (clean, dress ok, smell nice), be the gentleman, or "bad boy" and pick up his date in a nice car - Um, he has covered over 50% of the ground already.

One the other hand, if the guy just having money, a clean nice car (no job) - Um, he also covers over 50% of the ground already too.
